This section covers all areas of production, from planning and development through shooting to editing.
Projects

Information
Free information on production agreements, copyright, online courses are being researched and made available in the Resources section.
Finance
Raising finance for films is one of the biggest challenges that faces filmmakers all over the world. More so in Sierra Leone, which is one of the poorest andleast developed countries in the world. Nevertheless, it can be - is being - done. Although the Film Workshop has no funds of its own, it has successfully helped in the provision of finance for two feature films and one short, and is always willing to provide advice.
The Workshop has been exploring practical mechanisms for the development of national and international funding, and these are to be published soon.
Fees
How much is reasonable to pay to hire a VHS or mini-DV or HDV or HD camera for day..?
Or a camera man..? Or an edit suite..? Or an editor..?
In order to encourage more indigenous film production by reducing costs and making film production more viable, as well as assist filmmakers inbudgetary control, the Workshop is advocating the development ofrealistic fees for production services. These will be in the form of a set of voluntary guidelines, so that when filmmakers need to acquire equipment, crew, actors or whatever, there will be a consensus over what is reasonable and what is not. That way, everyone will benefit; not least the Sierra Leone film 'industry' as a whole.
Please help us by sending your opinions and suggestions on fees to the Sierra Leone National Film Workshop.
